INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup leftover cooked rice    
  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese 
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped onion   
  • 2 tsp tomato paste   
  • 2 tsp breadcrumbs 
  • 1 tsp chopped green chilli   
  • 1tsp chopped ginger  
  • Chopped jalapenos as required
  • Grated mozzarella cheese as required
  • Breadcrumbs to coat 
  • 1 tbsp oil  
For pickled chilli
  • 1 tbsp oil   
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic   
  • 3 big green chilli  
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds   
  • 1 tsp nigella seeds   
  • Salt to taste  
  • Crushed black pepper to taste  
  • 2 tsp thyme   
  • ¾ lemon juice
For garnish
  • Sundried tomato sauce as required
  • Red chilli powder a pinch  

METHOD

  • In a bowl add leftover cooked rice, grated parmesan cheese, finely chopped onion, tomato paste, bread crumbs, chopped green chilli, chopped ginger and mix well. 
  • Make balls of the mixture and stuff them with chopped jalapenos and grated mozzarella cheese. Make similar such stuffed balls. 
  • Apply bread crumbs on these balls and prepare tikkis.  
  • Heat oil on a pan and shallow fry these tikkis. 
  • To prepare pickled mirch heat oil on a pan; add chopped garlic, cut the big green chilli from the centre and add. 
  • Now add sesame seeds, nigella seeds, salt, crushed black pepper, water, thyme, lemon juice and toss.  
  • Add sundried tomato sauce on a plate, sprinkle red chilli powder and place the prepared pickled chilli and arrange the Italian suppli.

Ingredients
Original recipe makes 16 pinwheelsChange Servings
1/2 cup ricotta cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup chopped pepperoni
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh mushrooms
1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 (14 ounce) jar pizza sauce


Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, stir together the ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, green pepper and onion. Set aside.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into 4 rectangles. Press the remaining perforations together to seal. Spread the filling evenly onto the rectangles. Roll up the filling inside the dough starting at the short side. Slice each finished roll into four slices, and place cut side down onto a baking sheet.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly browned. While the pinwheels are baking, warm the pizza sauce. Serve the pinwheels with pizza sauce in small cups for dipping.
