Ingredients2 tbsp (30 mL) butter
3 tbsp (45 mL) all-purpose flour
2 cups (500 mL) Milk
1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper
Pinch ground nutmeg




Preparation
Melt butter in a small, heavy saucepan over medium heat; blend in flour; cook and stir 2 min.

Lift pan from heat, add Milk and whisk until smooth.
Season. Cook, stirring constantly until thickened.
Preparation time: 10 min
Yield: 2 cups (500 ml) medium-thick sauce.
